Studio and Payment Policies
Payment Terms & Tuition
1. Tuition is due the first day of the month and delinquent after the 7th of the month. A $15.00 late fee will be charged on all late payments received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be charged after the 20th of the month, and a $35.00 late fee after the 28th of the month. No exceptions. If payment has not been received in full by the end of the month, students will not be allowed to participate in class, the student will be dropped from all classes, and will be required to re-register and pay a new registration fee.
2. Tuition is set on a yearly base and then broken into monthly payments. The payment amount always remains the same whether the month is a “long” month (5weeks) or a “short” month (3 weeks). Full Tuition is due every month, including June where tuition is tied into production fees. No exceptions will be made.
3. TLC accepts cash, check, and most major credit cards.
4. A $25.00 service fee will be charged for any returned checks. After multiple returned checks, a parent may be asked to pay in cash or certified funds.
5. TLC does not send monthly bills. It is the parent’s responsibility to mail or bring payment to the studio. All tuition must be current to participate in studio functions. This includes all performances, trips, and competitions.
6. There are NO REFUNDS or ADJUSTMENTS made for missed classes. Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. Students are allowed make-up lessons, and it must be used within 30 days of the absence. Make-up classes must be taken at the same level or lower as the original class which was missed. Please check in with the front desk to use your make-up lesson.
7. Substitute teachers are used occasionally when studio instructors are not available to teach. Tuition is not adjusted when a substitute teacher is used.
8. All students are required to pay a yearly registration fee of $25.00. This registration fee is renewable at the beginning of each season, beginning in September. The registration fee for a second child is $10.00. No one family is required to pay more then $45.00 in registration.
9. A re-registration fee is charged when any student drops out of dance for a month or longer, or is dropped from classes due to non-payment of tuition for 30 days, even if the student registered previously during the season.
11. Should your child need to miss a class for any reason, we ask that you kindly notify the studio office. We keep track of attendance for your convenience, so we thank you in advance for your help.
15. Our professional dance floors are very delicate. Water is allowed in the studio, but we ask that you keep all other food and drink out in the lobby to help keep our floors clean. Dance shoes are to be worn in the studio only, and not outdoors. Please change into your dance shoes once you arrive at the studio. No street shoes are allowed on studio floors
19. Due to the physical nature of the activity, an injury may occur while a child is in class. The Dancers’ Studio is not responsible for injuries that occur on the studio premises, parking lot, or at studio performances or events. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide medical insurance or medical funding in the event that an injury does occur. The Dancers’ Studio Teachers and Staff will provide assistance in obtaining medical attention for any student, as needed. Students or their responsible party must carry their own insurance, and understand that any injuries which may occur are the sole responsibility of the student or the responsible party.
20. TLC asks all parents to use their best judgement and not allow their children to attend classes sick or under the weather for the safety and health of all students and staff.
21. A recital fee ($30), in addition to a costume fee, is required from any student taking part in the yearly recital.
22. Participation in the recital is by no means required by a student, though we do ask to be noticed by February 1st if a student wishes to opt out.
23. Students have opportunities to study in master classes, attend a convention, and participate in community shows. We encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities. Information including schedules and costs will be provided in advance.
